Coastal Carolina Hospital announces promotions of Andrew Shea to Chief Financial Officer and Shelly Weilenman, R.N., to Chief Nursing Officer

Andrew W. Shea has been promoted to Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and Shelly Weilenman, R.N., has been promoted to Chief Nursing Officer(CNO), at Coastal Carolina Hospital in Hardeeville.

As the CFO, Shea is responsible for the overall accounting and financial operations for the hospital.  Most recently he was Assistant CFO for the hospital. Shea joined Coastal in January 2009. He has more than nine years of experience in healthcare finance, including positions as Controller at Centennial Medical Center in Frisco, TX, and Assistant Controller and Senior Accountant at Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill, S.C.

Shea as a Bachelor’s degree in business administration and a Master’s degree in accounting from Nichols College in Dudley, MA.                   

As the CNO, Weilenman, is responsible for the patient care and nursing administration at the hospital. She joined the management team at Coastal in December 2008 as Vice President of Patient Care Services. Prior to that, she was director of Critical Care at Hilton Head Hospital. She has nearly 20 years of experience in nursing and nursing administration.

Weilenman has a Bachelor of Science degree and a Master’s degree, both in nursing from the University of Mississippi. She holds professional memberships in the American Organization of Nurse Executives, the American Nurses Association, and the South Carolina Nurses Association.

She is currently serving a two-year term on the South Carolina Board of Nursing’s Advisory Committee on Nursing (ACON). As a committee member, Weilenman is representing small and rural hospitals within the state. In addition, she serves on the nursing advisory committee for the University of South Carolina-Beaufort.
